Team Scale: 6 People

Role: Hardware Design/Programming/Programming Oversight

What did I do in this Project: I was the main designer for the hardware that this game used as well as a programmer for the project. I also helped out the other programmer on this project with how to implement things related to the hardware itself.

Process: I started out with communicating with the team on what exactly the project was and what was the goals for the controller, then using those ideas I created a prototype of the controller to test functionality. That prototype was used as the basis for the final controller. After this I shifted focus to programming the functionality into the game so the controller could communicate with it, finally after that I started helping out with various elements of gameplay logic to speed up the development of the game.

Reflection: Design wise, the project wasn't flawless with various issues with the controller such as it being extremely fragile if pulled in the wrong direction. Programming wise I wish I could've helped out more with various gameplay loops as I took too long debuging and constructing the controller to be able to work on anything from scratch for the game. Despite these issues, I'm happy with the outcome of this project and I feel that we couldn't have done much better at the time considering the time limits that the project was subject to.
